In 2022, CTE Launched its first YDP Programme. With the original ambition of onboarding 5 youth representatives in the first 6 months from the local community, we have already exceeded our original goal 6 fold by recruiting 30 driven & deserving individuals into the program. With over 300 applicants, we undertook the responsibility of vetting and interviewing each one to ensure that not only were they ready to take the next step in their own development, but also would add value to the respective teams they’ve joined. Each participant has been placed in a department in which they have a natural affinity and the highest chance for success, providing them not only with the skills but also the experience they require to be self-sufficient & employable.

For the last 25 years, CTE has taken its responsibility to the local community very seriously, and there is no greater asset to the upliftment of these communities than its youth. CTE, partnered with the local high school, selects the top academic performers and invites them to participate in a 2-day leadership retreat. It allows us to broaden the perspective of these young leaders; through adventure, inspiring guest speakers, constructive workshops and the encouragement to dream bigger for themselves and their peers. It is an emotional and rewarding experience for all involved.

Teamwork is at the heart of CTE and there is no better example of teamwork than ‘the beautiful game’. In partnership with the local municipality, CTE sponsors the local soccer league tournament that encourages both boys & girls within the local community to participate in a holiday round-robin competition that brings the entire community together for 3 weeks of festivities and an opportunity to support the hardwork and sportsmanship of the kids. Uniforms and trophies are provided to all teams as well as a holiday feeding scheme to ensure our athletes are kept in tip-top shape.

Although many of CTE’s initiates focus on the youth in our local communities, we also value the wisdom, history & experience that our elderly contribute to these societies. Every year as an example of this appreciation, we host a Christmas Party with all of the festivities and delicious food we expect for this special time of year. For those who are less mobile we also arrange gift boxes to be delivered so everyone has the opportunity to experience the Christmas cheer.
