CTE is fully committed to equitable, non-discriminatory employment policies that serve to redress inequities of the past and empower individuals and communities to take control of their futures. Since its inception, CTE’s employment policy has been based on employee equity and black economic empowerment and some 95% of the staff employed at the factory are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

CTE fully endorses and supports Governments Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Programme. We are committed to the socio-economic transformation of the country, which is underpinned by the standards, values and principles contained in our Code of conduct and Guiding Principles.

Our approach to Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) includes initiatives in respect of employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and corporate social investment as indicated by our specific HR, Procurement and Corporate Communications Policies and reflected in our B-BBEE guidelines.

Each entity in the Group is assessed annually as an independent company. The contribution level achieved by the operating entity in turn impacts on the other entities in the group, so every effort will be made to adhere to our policies and guidelines and so doing, improve the contribution level achieved. CTE Investments achieved a Level Two contribution in its first year of being rated and will continue with the policies and programmes into the future to ensure that this level is maintained and improved.
